VarAC on Linux/Pi/Mac

Hello VarAC authors, it would be great to have VarAC for macOS as well. I see that VarAC is written in mono/.NET:

VarAC.exe: PE32 executable (GUI) Intel 80386 Mono/.Net assembly, for MS Windows

Have you tried to compile it with mono on macOS? Is there any principal obstacle to try to recompile it with Xamarin? As the matter of fact, that VarAC tends to become de facto one of the prefered ways for EmComm, it would be more than welcome to have it available on macOS/linux as well...
