VarAC/VARA on RPi 500 / RPi 5 - no TX

Hi all,

I installed VarAC and VARA on a RPi 5 / RPi500. My TRX is a QMX+ (CAT-Commands from TS-450). It seems, that the installation was successfull: In VARA I can use the Tune-Function and in VarAC CAT-Commands for Frequency-Change and PTT are working. BUT: If I try to send CQ or a Beacon, the TRX will not change in TX-Mode.

I checked the Ports with netstat and lsof: 8100 an 8300 are marked as connected if VarAC and VARA are running.

What went wrong?

consider putting "flrig" between VarAC and your rig easy to configure in varac, just have everything point to flrig in flrig you need to configure the right serial of course. For me personally this works better (on a desktop linux) than direct. Also because the options for polling delays and such things are more granular on flrig. Once configured, you need to leave the software once in order to save the working config. 73 OH8XAT

Issues installing VAR AC on Mac running Parallels windows virtual machine

Trying to get VAR AC working on a Macintosh running windows under parallels, and using an IC7300. I think VARA is working ok, and VAR AC appears to be set up correctly, but no com ports are showing up in the drop down list on settings. This version of windows is set up for ARM machines as is my M4 Mac mini. Has anyone found a fix for this issue or suggestions of things to check? thanks

Missing Freq and QSY Arrows

When running in Linux (CrossOver), do the freq change and QSY arrows just show up as little boxes for everyone (who runs VarAC in Linux)? If it's a font issue, I cannot figure it out. If that's just the way it displays, I'll quit trying to figure it out.

Thanks,
