Cluster - Email

I'm putting this here because I don't know how the software talks between the different instances. Whether it is internal to the software, UDP, or whatever. Instance 1 & 2 are not the email gateway handler, instance 3 is. Instance 1 & 2 go from "Email Gate" go from blue to orange. If I shut down 1 & 2 and bring them back up, they stay orange. If I shut down all three and bring them back up it 1 & 2 are blue. Instance 3 (on the left) stayed green the whole time. No other errors that I could see.

Voice Announcements In A Cluster

When I had two instances I used the female voice on one, the male voice on the other. Now I have three instances.... Maybe if Cluster is enabled it would put a "C1", C2", "C3", etc in front of the announcement?

Auto-QSY Allowed Frequency Range - Cluster Ops

Due to the different frequency ranges of rigs and antenna limitations connected, it would be great to be able to customize the table for each instance. My FT-710 will do 160m but the antenna won't. UHF/VHF rig will only do a set freq, FT-991A running 2m FM will do HF, but is not at the moment connected to an HF antenna. It would be great to be able to have a separate table per instance in a cluster. I don't even know if VarAC can/will attempt a QSY in UHF/VHF FM. I haven't had a chance to test that. As is, editing the table in one instance affects all instances.

#FT-710

<Instance=1>

14.101.250-14.108.750

7.101.250-7.108.750

3.591.250-3.598.000

You can do it today. Use this value that is there under [OTHER] in the ini file of each instance:

FrequenciesCustomFilePath=

Add option to wait to display message until it has finished transferring

Hi, I'm the developer of RWS (Radio Web Services, https://github.com/Glitch31415/rws) and VarAC is the best VARA chat client for interacting with my project. However, when it tries to send extremely large amounts of text in a message (tens or hundreds of kilobytes or more), the VarAC window slows down more and more and eventually freezes as more text appears. It would be nice if there was an option to only try to load the message once, after it has finished sending, rather than reloading the UI element each time more text is available to show. Thank you! Beacon in The Middle of a CQ

I was sending a CQ and VarAC sent a Beacon in the middle of the sequence. I'm in debug mode because of the other error.

I am noticing this because now that I have the cluster running I am beaconing, which is something I have not done in the past. This is causing a problem because if I go to send a CQ and do a slot sniff it sends the beacon when the timer runs down. Beacon should check that a CQ has been initiated and pause the beacon as soon as I click on "Call CQ" like it does when I'm in a QSO.

Unhandled Except Leads to Shutdown

I had an alert that a Relay was waiting on another station.

I connected to the station and rcvd the vmail.

I went to delete the notification in the relay window and got a "unhandled exception" warning. Clicked continue, and the instance of my cluster I was deleting it in shut down. The other instance was not affected. I went to look for the log file for 20260619* and it did not exist, only for the 18th. No data date stamped for the 19th or 20th. I don't often have relay notifications, but I will try to capture some data.

Well, everything was working fine since I originally posted this, so I turned debug off. But it happened again tonight.

Contest / Contact mode

It might be worth considering a contest or "I just want to make contacts" mode. Here's a possible implementation provided just for clarity to what I was thinking about: 1) Change the CQ Calls window into CQ Chats 2) Add a window for CQ Contests

3) If someone calls CQ in the CQ Contests window, you double click on it the same way as CQ Chats. In other words, the operator has to decide that he wants to connect.

4) An automated workflow for the contact proceeds just like WSJT except . . .

5) There's the opportunity to add tags such as <NAME> or <INFO>

6) Contact information goes in the Datastream as it does currently.

7) When the workflow is complete, a <DISC> is issued automatically.

I had a thought that might be worth sharing. Something that might be possible with VarAC is to have a contest mode enabled only at certain times. For example, during the ARRL International Digital Contest.
