Why is the narrator going thru my radio and not the computer speakers ? I see no setting for this.
I am new to VARA so am doig a lot of listening. I am amazed at the amount of Windows sounds (door bells and such) that I am hearing. And, even worse, the amount of narrator announcements that are being transmitted.
Per the conversation I just joined:
Most of my listening has been on 20M on 14105. A quick check of the band plan shows this is WELL out of band for SSB. Everyone transmitting narrator here is in violation of their license...and likely not aware they are doing it.
To me the easiest and quickest fix is to turn off narrator. Then, go in and turn off all windows sounds. This should, I'd guess, turn off narrator and all the noise from windows.
Seems to me the default VARAC config should have narrator OFF.
