I'd like to take my hat off to Pat, ON2AD. You'll soon understand why.

But first, I'd like to introduce Pat ON2AD @on2ad.pat to all the VarAC users who joined us over the past year and may not know how much he has contributed to our community.

Pat was one of the early VarAC pioneers. Back then, he realized something was missing, something developers like me often overlook: a comprehensive user manual.

Being a top-notch technical writer, Pat volunteered to create the official VarAC User Manual. Not just in one language, but in three: English, German, and Dutch.

Since then, he has updated the manuals for every single VarAC release. Year after year, release after release, the manuals kept growing, improving, and becoming more comprehensive. Today, they stand at 158 pages of pure gold.

So why am I taking my hat off to Pat today?

The latest VarAC release introduced a significant UI refresh. Many of the screenshots in the manual no longer matched…

VarAc download problems

I have tried the usual download process, but It never goes to my email as it should. It is not in Spam or trash. I have tried several work arounds but cannot download the VarAc.exe program. I have downloaded it sucessfully in the past but now nothing works.

Has anyone had this problem? Have there been any changes that I shpuld know about?

Edit: Received an email from support with standard "check spam and promotions" folders and to whitelist addresses. I had of course did all that before asking for assistance. Ended up using another's email with the v15.0.18 Dropbox links. Hoping the "in app update" works in future.

VarAC Remote

Try to connect VarAC to a Vara HF Modem on a second PC but TCP connection failed ... - any idea? Have I to use the 60000 Port also on the modem??

Sorry. I have to precise my question. I have 2 PC one with vara modem and a connected IC-705 and another PC there the VarAC software is installed. The connection of the modem seems to be working because the TCP indicator is green but the cat control via remote is not working. If I am using the VarAC software on the same PC there the Vara modem is installed the CAT control of the transceiver works but remotely not. I am not shure if the cat control will also communicate via the modem connection or if I have to install Hamlib or an other appölication to do the CAT control. Hopefully I am now more precise in the issue I have.
