But first, I'd like to introduce Pat ON2AD @on2ad.pat to all the VarAC users who joined us over the past year and may not know how much he has contributed to our community.

Pat was one of the early VarAC pioneers. Back then, he realized something was missing, something developers like me often overlook: a comprehensive user manual.

Being a top-notch technical writer, Pat volunteered to create the official VarAC User Manual. Not just in one language, but in three: English, German, and Dutch.

Since then, he has updated the manuals for every single VarAC release. Year after year, release after release, the manuals kept growing, improving, and becoming more comprehensive. Today, they stand at 158 pages of pure gold.

So why am I taking my hat off to Pat today?

The latest VarAC release introduced a significant UI refresh. Many of the screenshots in the manual no longer matched…

The RWS project allows anyone using a radio and a computer to access the internet from anywhere they can reach one of our servers. The primary uses for this is either because of an emergency, or if you simply go somewhere that doesn't have internet and you need to look up some information.

The server has built-in commands which allow you to:

• View a website (either in plain text or raw HTML)

• Perform a quick Brave search

• Get the weather forecast for a given city + state

• Download a given URL (download is encoded into base64 to allow download through text, instructions for how to decode are given alongside the download)

Hi all - I need an elmer's response on a question. I am in USA; Wisconsin.

I want to leave my station on full-time with VARAC, and I want to stay within the FCC rules about unattended operation. I want to have it on 20m during the daytime hours and auto switch to 40m in the evening hours. I want to use the "Frequency Scheduler" feature of VARAC to manage this.

Am I correct in my understanding that I need to edit the default VarAC_auto_qsy_allowed_frequencies.conf file and edit the line for 40m to something like: "7.100.000-7.105.000" to stay within FCC rules regarding unattended operation?

Below is what I've found in FCC Part 97.221 regarding unattended operation.

The email to get a download link is not working! I entered 3 different email addresses, 2 were MS Outlook based, and one was GMail. But I've not received anything from VarAC regarding a download link for the 15.x version even after waiting several days.

This system is obviously not working and is causing frustration.

Why can't we just check for updates in the software we already have? You can always flash your monetizing ads for this free software for Master certification during that update, then forcing users through this broken system of updating.
