I would like to be able to disable my station from automatically relaying vmail. Is this possible?

I would like to be able to disable my station from automatically relaying vmail. Is this possible?
I just wish people would pick up their relays. I think ops miss the notifications that they have mail waiting. I delete the relays and old outbox messages after about a month.
