Radio is set to "Upper Sideband Packet" aka "USB-D."
CAT is working for: PTT
Frequency and mode control of transceiver
Vara HF is displaying waterfall which also displays what seems to be VARA ASK signals.
Beacons are being transmitted and there seem to be responses, but not decoded. A
beacon transmission is sent and multiple differing sets of signals are heard.
Any suggestions of direction to proceed would be appreciated.

You will find tons of posts here ref Yaesu radios and needing to change the Data Shift in the menus to 1500Hz. This brings the passband to the properly centered 1500Hz for VARA. This also gives you more working bandwidth for other modes too such as FT8. Anyway I just downloaded the FT0950 manual and it looks like it is Menu Items 055 Data Packet Shift, set that to +1500 and try again.
