VarAC - HF discussion forum

Good morning all...

I am completely new to VARAC, and have a very basic question...

When I start VARA, the mode on my transciever (Kenwood TS-450S) changes mode to 'R FSK' Is this right?

Also, the VARA mode setting in the settings screen, under 'Frequency Control' is set to USB-D. Is that also correct? I know that in most other digital modes (PSK32, Olivia, etc.) the radio must be set to USB. If it isn't, then the radio is just a room heater.

Using OmniRig for CAT control.
