Feature requests

I hope to get this request to the developers to VARAAC. I am a current user of the program and I must say it is an outstanding program. I very much appreciate all the hard work that was put into VARAAC. It is the best thought-out digital program I have ever used. Please advise me if this is not the correct place to post this request.

I am using VARAAC in the Emcomm profile and working with a couple of volunteer groups who support our county, state, and region.

Currently, we are experimenting with VARAAC along with ALE (automatic link establishment) to connect and pass traffic. The concept is, stations use ALE to determine the best of channel to connect to another station. Once connected, voice coordination is required to set the correct frequency in VARAAC to pass traffic. This setup requires a station be maned.

The modification or change to VARAAC is for the program to have the ability to follow the frequency on the radio as it scans and stops on one of several frequencies. I have used Fldigi with the ALE setup and Fldigi will track the frequency on the radio as it scans. When the scan is stopped, the matching frequency is set in Fldigi to allow for traffic to be passed. This is the perfect operation except for the fact Fldigi does not have near the performance and features as does VARAAC.

I would very much appreciate your consideration in this matter. I am sure other Emcomm groups would find this to be very helpful. This would allow for a regional station to serve as a message center somewhat similar to what AMARS uses.
