TLDR: Feature to create a list of station calls and connect to each in turn to deliver the same short message.

Using VarAC HF for EMCOMM we've found that broadcast messages are, not surprisingly, pretty unreliable compared to VARA HF. Typical sequence is net control uses broadcast to ask for check-ins and stations use broadcast to announce their participation. That process is pretty unreliable.

As an alternative, we might have stations individually connect to net control using VARA HF at the start of the net to check in, give their call sign and tactical role. (Not on a calling frequency, obviously).

Net control would assemble a list of the checked in stations. The first use of the feature would be to send the list of stations and brief net instructions to each station in turn using VARA HF.

Typically, individual stations would be instructed to connect directly with each other…

Would it be possible to be able to link a message to then be displayed public on web somewhere? We can now send E mail so could there be a way to tell VarAC to post a message online somewhere? This would be good for Emcom and also to keep status updates to non licenced operators.

i.e. Message posted online '' All ok, im now at Pos GPS XXXXX '' or '' M0BLH now on air at 14.105 '' for example.

As we now have E mail gateways, I wonder if it would be possible to send a text message to a mobile phone number. I can see how this would be an excellent feature for Emcoms, and a good way to keep in contact with non Licenced holders like family and friends.

I am resetting up VarAC. I haven't used it for over a year. when I downloaded the new version none of the settings carried over. I took I while to get the CAT Control settings working I had to go to the Radio and under Operating Setting turn CAT RTS to OFF then the Cat worked. My final Problem is that when I send A CQ or TUNE there seems to be no TX Audio. I turned on the Monitor and also watch the Waterfall and almost nothing there. I can go to RMS Express and using VARA HF it sends and receives fine.

Any Suggestions.
