Beacon/Broadcast does not key rig

Hello. Using V13.0.1 and my CQs key up and transmit fine, Varac wont key up and transmit broadcasts and beacons. The beacons and broadcast messages are listed in the display boxes, but do not transmit. It used to work on my previous Varac version. I upgraded to V13.0.1 because my beacon window did not show email gateways. The new version showed the gateway logo only for a few minutes and then stopped. Any suggestions? Using Windows 11 home

Update: somehow my beacons are now working, however I cannot broadcast anything. The program shows my broadcast message being sent, but no key up or transmission heard, Also, no email gateways are listed. Calling CQ continues to work fine. Weird.

Broadcasts require a 2nd TX

I’m having an odd problem with Broadcasts

Rig info:

Yaesu FT-710, Flrig 2.0.06, Windows 10 Desktop

I run mostly in Emcomm mode and have noticed that my <EC> weren’t getting responses when I knew for a fact that others were hearing them. Digging deeper, I validated with with multiple operators that they can “hear” my transmission audio but it never decodes on their side.

I then learned that if I send a second duplicate <EC> it will decode properly by those that can hear it and they will respond.

Further testing, I’ve found that the same applies to other broadcast messages that I send. The first one is never decodable at the other end, but the second duplicate that I send is decoded.

It does sound like a delay in your PTT kicking in occasionally. I heard some sounds like this on the band. VARA requies fast PTT enablement. This is why VOX is not a good option (I assume you dont do that). It can also be over modulation on transmitting. Best to enable MONITOR on your rig and hear the actual sound. and see if you hear the sound cut off at the begining.
