Beacon Time - From Ends vs Start of TX?
I am beaconing every 15min on 2m to test range as I move away from my QTH. I observe that the TX time appears to drift about 1sec per 15min interval. My PC's clock is GPS disciplined so very accurate.
Is the beacon timing driven as 15m from the end of TX rather than initiating every 15min perhaps?

OK, thanks - that fits with my observations beaconing at 50W on 2m from a rooftop vertical. Driving away from my QTH I heard a signal on 144.275 at ~15mi line-of-sight distance but nothing 15min later. In my location/geography, VaraAC will be useful for local comms on 2m - a better range than voice for sure. I’ll work on mapping NVIS for intermediate range on HF.
