ALE-type feature exist for Emcomm mode?
Via a conversation (kb2kb) yesterday re VarAC emcomm mode with a user who has played in the ARES and other emcomm sandboxes he indicated a key difference between VarAC and Winlink for passing email traffic was that, unlike Winlink, VarAC would automatically search for “RMS” stations (email gateways). I have dug deep into the manual and searched in vain for a “switch” to enable such a feature. Would someone please either confirm or deny such an ALE-type feature’s existence?

In the upcoming VarAC release there will be a Scan feature but it will not seek out a Gateway. Winlink will step through the bands to track down the RMS you are trying to connect to, so maybe that is the confusion??
