Hi, Is VarAC designed to let multiple instances share a single GPS device? What I observe: When I run two instances of VarAC with GPS enabled, each one competes for the GPS port. They take turns every ~30 seconds, so only one has GPS data at a time. I expected the first instance would grab the port and keep it, without letting the other use it. What I’d like to know: • Is VarAC designed to let multiple instances share GPS access? • Or should GPS be enabled on only one instance, with its data automatically shared to other running instances? Environment: • OS: Linux (running VARA and VarAC under WINE) • VarAC: 12.0.0 • GPS: USB receiver on /dev/ttyACM0 mapped to COM5 in WINE VarAC.log: 19/09/2025 23:30:29 - (CN:1) Error: Unable to read GPS data. Hi, Is there a way to move a vmail from the parking box to the inbox? One station connected me and sent a vmail. I received it, but it had a typo in my callsign in the "To" field resulting in it being stored in the parking box. If it's considered a rare case, I don't expect it as a regular UI feature. Is there a way to do it manually, e.g., by manipulating the db? I'm using VarAC 12.0.0 on Wine/Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon. Thanks in advance. Gene JI1BQW

Hi, I just happened to find that the following error was recorded in VarAC.log. I'm pretty sure that my internet connection was working well at this timestamp. Other than this, the app works fine. I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon with Wine version 10.0. Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks as always. Gene 18/06/2025 00:00:02 - Error: Unable to check latest version online. Irad and community members, First and foremost, I'd like to extend my gratitude for your great assistance on this forum. I'm currently running VARA HF Modem and VarAC on Linux Mint (ver 21.3, x64) with Wine 9.0 and I'm pleased to report that both are performing satisfactorily for daily use.  However, I've encountered a possible defect with the Vmail box that I'd like to report. While the "inbox" tab functions as expected, displaying all received mails and allowing me to open the one that I select, I've found that other tabs like "Sent", "Outbox" and "Parking" fail to display their mail list correctly. I've tried disabling the "Linux compatible mode", but not helped. I'm attaching screenshots below that illustrate the issue. (Please note there were no mails in the parking list when I captured it.) Thank you, Gene - JI1BQW

Hi, Excuse me if this is a designed behavior, but wanted to know. When I switch a band, from 20m to 40m for example, while the beacon is on, the NEXT BEACON is automatically set to 00:00:09. I'd prefer that it be turned off after switching a band, because the beacon is often fired off while I'm working on my manual antenna tuner. Before QSY: Right after QSY: My Settings: JI1BQW/Gene

Hi, Here I'm talking about VarAC on Linux Mint with Wine. This does not happen on Windows. I want to keep PSKReport ON during my operation and I confirmed that it is ON in my .ini file. However, once I open "Settings"-"RIG Control and VARA Configurations", the setting is not reflected on the screen (the box is unchecked) and when I close it without touching anything, the PSKReport setting is disabled in .ini file and obviously it does not report to PSKRep. So everytime I open the settings menu, I need to check the box before closing it. The same happens to PSKReporterSelfReport, but not to other setting items. I see no PSK-related errors in VarAC.log. Any thought? Settings are ON in .ini file. 2. Open the settings menu. Boxes are unchecked (should be checked). Close it without touching any items. 3. The settings are disabled in .ini file. Gene

As an end user, I’d like to see VarAC.log rotated regularly, e.g. every month, to prevent it from growing too large. Gene JI1BQW
