Using CAT for both PTT and Frequency control. Yes, the radio's red TX light went on. It was only a couple of seconds, but it definitely was transmitting. It happened so quickly I did not have the chance to also look at the screen, just the radio. When I did look, it was telling me to "hold tight."

I had to save it as a text file instead of .ini so it would load here. Keep in mind, this is the first time I've modified a file like this.

Well, I found a third manual for the FT-891 and was able to modify the .ini file to keep the rig in D-U mode instead of RTTY. I changed the MD09 to MD08 which fixed the problem.
