After the last Windows 11 update (KB5058411), my current VarAC installation froze after start.
I had to restore the system from a backup.
Now I'm missing all security updates, I've stopped Windows Updates to avoid a recurrence.
It's not just me, other OMs are experiencing this.
Is there a workaround or a developer's comment?

Guys - those who experience the hang - can you make sure you are not on "Linux compatibility mode" (under settings -> Misc). Long shot but maybe related to a specific font being used in this mode. LMK please.
Gentleman - try to see if you hanging you have an error on the windows event-viewer. this might help us understand what is triggering this. Obviously Microsoft has broken something and if I know what I may be able to work around it.

Thanks but the OS is preventing me from uninstalling. Might try a System Restore instead.
uninstall KB5058499 and VarAC will work again, it works for me at least.

This might be more than you need but not sure how to parse it down since there are so many versions of each.

I have the same issue with VarAC now freezing on start up. I would have to assume its the same Windows update from last weekend. Unfortunately I cannot uninstall that Windows Update.

I upgraded and did not encounter this so I would need your guys to step in and help me, you and the community.
I suspect it has to do with .NET framework. Can you tell me what versions of .NET you have. you can do this by running this command from your command line (CMD):

I have exactly the same situationeel. I am fighting for almost a week no. VarAC is OOO now. Iam going to send Irad about this problem now as we speak.
I run Win 11 Version 24H2, OS Build 26100.4202. Update KB5058411 was installed back on May 15th. I have used VarAC 11.2.0 more than once since then and have had absolutely no problems running it. In fact, I have never had any trouble with any VarAC version after any Windows update. Maybe I'm just lucky?
