For FTdx-5000 and FTdx-9000 you could run VarAC on VFO-B.
The comfort is, you can continue to use the Main-VFO A (with the large tuning knob) and listen on any
other mode and band, where VarAC runs independent in the "background" on the 2nd RX.
If you want to qso on the Main-VFO A e.g. in SSB simply press the TX-Button close the Main-VFO.
To continue to asssign TX to sub receiver for VarAC VFO-B, press TX close to the small VFO-Button.
The command VarACStartCmd assign DATA to VFO B, set the Filter to 500 Hz and TX to VFO-B when you start VarAC.
The command VarACExitCmd returns to main VFO-A when you close VarAC.
You have to modify the following files e.g. with a simple text editor in the
VarAC directory:
1.)
VarAC_cat_commands.ini
here add the following lines. I named the "new" transceiver "Yaesu FTdx-5k B" as the better name
"Yaesu FTdx-5000 B" is too long and you can't see the "B" in the drop down menu.
[Yaesu FTdx-5k B]

and
2.)
VarAC_ptt_commands.conf
here add the line
Yaesu FTdx-5k B,TX1;,TX0;,TEXT
On the setting "Rig contraol and Vara Configurations" select now the new "Yaesu FTdx-5k B"
For FTdx-9000 same procedure as it use the same cat commands.
Be shure that you have the default values of your transceiver for Mode PKT already changed as needed for all digi modes:
Menu # default changed to
083 300 OFF
085 3000 OFF
and most important:
087 0 1500
088 1000 1500
Feel free to adapt to your personal needs.
