I have had success with pi-apps loading wine/box on 32bit OS/wine Mint uses wine 6 or 7 by default and I noticed mono(.net) and such no longer support it. Try upgrading to a new wine 8.0 or newer Also if on 8+ and still having issue sometimes deleting the wine instance and create a new one fixes issues. I have issues in “Linux mode” and don’t enable that option due to a font error I always see

What is the console messages on crash? Stability can be an issue but it's been better lately!

things have been very difficult I just tried a new install and VARA isnt working anymore either I dont have a solution at the moment for quick recovery

there are a lot of rolling issues with Box/Wine 32/64 bit right now and it can be frustrating keep trying!

you can ignore most errors you can also install the font pack https://github.com/SpudGunMan/segoe-ui-linux

Do you have RF /swr causing usb disconnects? Seems like a sound card I/o issue no?

whats the silicone? I have the reverse results from you. I cant function with monitor but I can QSO with out.

interesting, if I try to modify the setting in the GUI the varac.exe crashes. If I put an entry into the .ini file its ignored. I know monitor worked a year ago. I havent tried it for some time (image shinker also isnt functioning in linux) .... I am looking for hints as well myself now. I am suprised by the results from DK6OV as I thought the vara.exe modem tcp issue was the known wine problem.. I am interested to know more as well I am a little behind 8.13 wine on my production stuff.

did a full new install new pi today and it worked. there is a lot of errors and confusion around empty variables and the .ini setup file. I attached a basic .ini for the shown versions on a new clean install. it might be worth putting this .ini file into your folder and try launching and go in and fix settings after.

6.3.3 improved the load on pi, you for sure need to force populate the .ini for example use a known working .ini from windows or fillout manually.

the new version will not load for me either, on the high level it appears to crash on “frame not in stack limits“ I have seen a few reported issues and possibly a fix on the way.

here is operating position setup or the "work around" I type into the text editor copy paste and it works given the setup restrictions and such :) (before upgrading modem as I learned a new version on air haha)

No worries I found some other internet posts about wine implementation issues with WPF in relation to the versioning of box emulator and wine version. combined with some limitations needed for vara modem as well this might be the happy middle ground. with a workaround it’s possible still and stable so that’s keeping me from Messing about while weather is favorable for POTA activations :)

got it - the issue I have is bands are congested or condensed - its killing ability to stay connected other stations just come in frequency and win the slot kick out stable week signals so disconnect and Eventual crash
