I monitor the audio going to my SignaLink. I hear occasional sounds going out to the external codec when they should be directed instead to my local speaker or Headphones. This is most frequently heard when a 'Connected to station' event happens, occasionally when 'Incoming connection request' event happens. The sound is coincident with the start of my digital transmission. It happens to my friend also. I hear some sounds on his RF occasionally, when I am not talking with him. We are both computer literate (Geeks) and know all about setting some devices for Default and others for Communications default. It seems that there is a race condition in the code someplace that tries to put out the sound at (nearly) the same time as it starts the digital signal. Check it out.

There seems to be no way to clear alerts except one by one. After a weekend monitoring FM I can accumulate hundreds of Beacon alerts. All I can do is archive them. in a batch. There seems to be no way to clear archive entries except one by one. Please fix this

The manual says that a registered version of Vara is necessary for the set level function to work. Same is true for the Tune button.This feature does work on my HF system on a different computer. Here on FM There seems to be nothing I can do to activate the tune button nor to adjust the transmit level. My beacons are so weak that it barely activates the PTT of my SignaLink. I find no setting in the .ini file where the feature can be enabled. Perhaps there is another file where it writes the level settings per band ( if that were set ON ). How can I tell VarAC that I have a license key for Vara and that I want to set my transmit level?

We run on VHF and want to have VarAC launch with that frequency set. Not the default 20m Calling Freq. Most of us do not have CAT for Rig Control or for PTT i.e. no Omnirig, FLrig, hamlib etc. We simply have a SignaLink which provides a hardwire PTT when audio starts. Therefore the checkbox for Startup using last frequency is not available. But the feature is still available and it works. Find the VarAC.ini file and in the [rig control] section set LastFrequencyLoadUponStartup=ON It does just what it says. Put the desired frequency in the list, select it, then quit. Next time you launch, it will be set.

I have an IC-7300. The factory stock CI-V address is 94. Because I have to operate with some MARS programs that do not recognize the existence of new equipment, I have had to change my address to that of an IC-7100 which is 88. I can use Omni rig, though I would rather not have that extra layer. So I simply found the file VarAC_cat_commands.ini and the section for the 7300 commands and changed each instance of 94 in the command strings to 88. Now it works perfect with just the CAT controls. [It is only a text file and it can be changed.]
