Troubleshooting - most common problems
Problem: I see a delay in PTT (TX) commands when using OmniRig
Solution: In OmniRig - set the "Timeout, ms" menu item to "100".
Problem: My CQ and Beacon buttons don't work. I even see "WRONG" messages on the VARA-HF command stream.
Soluton: Make sure you are using VARA-HF 4.5.0 or higher.
Problem: I am using OmniRig and IC-7300. When I change freuqneyc with VarAC, my transceiver changes the mode to RTTY instead of USB-D
Solution: In OmniRig - select a device called "IC-7300-DATA" instead of "IC-7300"
Problem: I run VarAC but I can't see it on screen
Solution: Open the VarAC.ini file and reset these parameters to 0 (zero) ScreenPositionX=0 ScreenPositionY=0
Problem: I can't change Frequency. The dropdown is grayed out.
Solution: Currently, frequency control is available only when using OmniRig.
Problem: VarAC puts my transceiver on RTTY instead on USB
Solution: If using OmniRig then under settings -> PTT & VARA configuration change USB Mode to "USB-D". In addition, for some transceivers, you need to select the OmniRig "DATA" Entry. Ex. instead of "IC-7300" choose "IC-7300-DATA"
