With the now implemented timeout of 60 sec, I am no longer able to ping any stn on the calling frequency. Most pings take a little more than 90 sec in average, if the SNR is somewhat below -10 dB. If the signal is strong, I don't need a ping, as I know that the other stn can probably receive me anyhow.

I have evaluated this myself and will change to 80 seconds.

I find this change to make VarAC less useful; especially when trying to ascertain the viability of contact with weak stations. The Ping now times out before completing on good contacts like -04. This is a functional hobbling of VarAC IMO.
