Have set up VarAC on my Hermes Lite 2 and can receive OK but have not yet tried a QSO and would like help on my filter settings. There are two places to set filters for DigU and I am a little confused. I have added screenshots of the Offsets and also as an example the settings for a 600Hz filter. I think they are the default settings but would appreciate any help in getting them optimised. Also when I set the ALC to 30% I have no output power. Unless I set the ALC at 0db I do not get the full power out (5W)
When I click Tune I get 5 Watts. I'll give your suggestion a try.
I use 600Hz on my Thetis, it must be centered on 1500 (default and what you have set). As for audio drive level, Thetis and SDR's are a bit different than regular radios. Use the MIC metering in Thetis and set you test Tune to -5dB and see how that works. If the radio is 5W out you will NOT get 5W (or want 5W out), properly set it will be about 80% of full output.
