I see quite a few CQs with no slot number. I have been avoiding answering those CQs because I don't want to tie up the main channel. Is that good practice?

Just installed vers 5.3.1 , I notice that all CQ calls with slot 9, e.g. "CQFRAME VE7FEM-9 500" are not posted to the last heard CQ calls but show up as beacons. Anyone else have this problem?
