VaraFM continuous beaconing

In the past there was some discussion about an "EMCOMM Mode" for VaraFM, as well the ability to have VarAC beacon continually for the duration of the emergency (or training event) rather than be limited to 24hrs. Is continuous beaconing while using VaraFM still in the works?

Beacon max tme was increased to 48 hours in one of the previous versions.

I'll incrase to 72 hours for V8.

As for VARAFM - also reduced the minimum interval time to 5 minutes.

Thanks Irad! I saw the 5-min interval but hadn't realized it had been extended to 48 hours.

Our local Emcomm group is using VarAC with VaraFM for nets and exercises and we keep forgetting to reinitialize beaconing after the time runs out. We hear from new users that "I got VarAC working but nobody is out there".

I can see where 5-min beaconing would be great during an emergency so that an EOC can retrieve parked Vmails in a timely manner, but we're just beaconing every 30-60 minutes to let others know that our stations are active.

A way to leave beaconing on semi-permanently would be much appreciated. Meanwhile we'll certainly take advantage of the 72-hour limit. Thank you Irad.
