One thing we can do at some point is upon handshake of 2 VarACs, they will exchange some data mutually like Locators... hopefully also RST when this becomes available.
Me FT8, never! It's a lunatic asylum there! Hihihihihihihi! On the other hand I operate JS8 everyday, mostly on 40m and HF-APRS on 30m, everyday too. So now you know why I would like to send my locator, but if we have to go back to WAV files, no it is not necessary because it will create extra work load for you. I am content with VarAC the way it is now! If VARA ever supports longer packets on CQ and BEACONS, then we can start thinking about TXing locators too! For now please forget it!
Unfortunately that can't be done... VARA limitation... unless we go back to audio files :) not enough characters in a vara packet at lowest speed (level 1) that is used in CQ frame.
