I run an Icom IC-7300 with VarAC. Upon startup of the software, as well as upon every frequency change, my rig is always forced to RTTY-R. It should be in USB-D. Something is wrong. Apparently an incorrect command is being sent to the radio by the software. It should always start up and stay in USB-D. Of course I continue to operate fine with VarAC by manually switching my IC-7300 to USB-D but I should not have to do that.
Best regards,
Gary, K7EK
In OmniRig choose "IC-7300-DATA"
There is no IC-7300-DATA selection in the radio dropdown.
@K7EK, Gary Please dowload the newest rig.ini files and copy them into your
C:\Program Files (x86)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs folder. The dowload is here:
http://www.dxatlas.com/Download.asp Look for "INI files for OmniRig". It would
also be a good idea to update to the newest OmniRig version updated 2021-09-11.
Thanks. I updated to the latest Omnirig and rig ini files and now everything works well. I had a very old version which did not support IC-7300 data.
Best regards,
Gary, K7EK
I had the same issue with the 7300. You might try a slower baud rate, and see if that fixes the issue. In my case, I did not have IC-7300-DATA selected (but my baud rate with the rig was already 9600.) Once I made the "7300-data" change, the mode change never happened again.
My CI-V baud rate has always been 19200, with CI-V USB baud rate set to 115200. This setting works well with VarAC.
@K7EK, Gary Hi there
Is this problem resolved ?
Yes. All is well now. I had an old version of OmniRig and RigINI file. Updated to the newest version and it works pefectly. Thank you!
