CQ frames are sometimes not displayed in the right window

    in Bugs - Archive

Time for your weekly (no, DAILY) bug report from WD4KAV...grin.

I've noticed for the first several minutes after VarAC is started, CQFRAMES will be detected in the VarAC log, but not displayed in the CQ window.

This behavior stops after the program has been running for awhile. I've not been able to find a specific length of time before CQ's start showing up again in the right window. No big deal, just wanted you to know. See below for an example.

CALLSIGN-9 is not a CQ with VarAC. its a BEACON. and it is decoded as such based on your screenshot.

@wd4kav VARA only has CQ (which was developed based on my request from EA5HVK).

Beacon is an invention of mine. To distinguish the 2, I decided that -9 is a beacon. one is fired automatically and categorized as beacon on screen when received while regular CQ call is trigger manually with a longer call and classified as ACTIVE CQ calls.

What you see on that small window is the commands I send and receive from the VARA HF modem.

Ok. Now I understand. Thanks for the explanation.
