1. Right click Beacon on an instance. 2. Right click Beacon on another instance. 3. "Sending beacon", "Sending beacon". 4. No beacon was actually sent! (Spotted in version: VarAC 11.0.7.)

Ok. I get it now. Thank you for reporting and providing this data. Indeed broadcasts are blocked in when unattended links is behavior. As Advanced beacons are based on broadcasts it is affected. I will fix that.

It's not posted twice. I used the edit button, and edited the subject to update it so it would match the outcome of our discussion.

There seems to be a bug in the forum: when I edit the subject, it looks to the moderators like a duplicate post and gets rejected!

I look on your screenshot and see at the top (VarAC log) a small hint about "ignoring PTT..." but I Cant see the rest. Please pull this from the log file to find out why.

No issue detected regrading the one-time beacon. PTT Lock is respected also for one time beacons.
As to the other thing you mentioned - not Beaconing while in AWAY - no such thing. 95% precents of beacons on the air are when people are in "I'm away" state.

as the one thing in common both your issues have is not Keying a PTT - I would suggest you check whats wrong in general with your PTT.

Make sure you work with VARA 4.8.9 as the Advanced beacon had a bein in 4.8.8.

Just verified again:

When I'm away, is selected VarAC says "Sending Beacon" but it does NOT transmit!

Here is a screen capture of the issue:

When I'm Away is selected, VarAC only transmits beacons when Unattended Links is also selected.

This is a bug:

It tries to send the beacon, but then it gets blocked.
This behavior does NOT match the documentation ("beacons will be transmitted...") in the tooltip:

UPDATE: Not sure if this is the same bug or an additional possibly related bug! When I'm Away is selected, VarAC appears to transmit beacons, but nothing goes out over the air - PTT does NOT trigger!

This is NOT intuitive at all!

Either beacons should be OFF, or ON. This is some bizarre in between behavior that makes no sense!
