Windows 7 Install

Hello - I would like to run VarAC on Windows 7 64-bit PC but it isn't working. I have VARA-HF running there without problems. I have VarAC downloaded and installed on the PC, and I can see MS .NET Framework 4.6.1 as an installed program under Control Panel > Programs and Features. When I click on the shortcut for the VarAC program, nothing happens - no nasty messages, no error boxes, nothing. I get the little circle twirling beside the cursor, showing that something is working. Then after a few seconds that goes away and all is quiet. How do I begin to see what is going on?

Yes, today I installed on Win 7 and works fine...

Windows 8.1 and above

(some hams reported that Win7 also works)

.NET framework 4.X or above

VARA-HF 4.8.7 or higher / VARA-FM 4.3.7

Optional: FLRig / OmniRig (V1.2 only)

My VARA-HF level is v4.8.9. I see from the prereqs that some hams are using Win7; also I found another post, "Windows 7" from Dec 2021, that mentions some folks are using Win7.

I'm looking for hints for debugging, any special configurations or things to check, so that I can get this going.

So what did you find. This is a thread I was hoping to help me to get var ac on win 7 but it seems to have dropped into a big black hole. If there is a way to make it work with win 7, it would be appreciated by many I'm sure to know how it's done. Also, some hams have reported win 7 works....so how???
