I'm trying to learn how to relay and park a Vmail on a 3rd party's system. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but after selecting the best SNR station from the Path Finder replies and connecting to facilitate parking my Vmail relay message, the would-be relay station will not accept my QSY request. VarAC will attempt to send the Vmail to the station on the calling frequency but the calling frequency time limit can easily be exceeded (likely) and the connection is then automatically terminated before the Vmail transfer is completed to the relay station.
This seems to me to be a huge wast of time and bandwidth (especially calling frequency bandwidth) that could be avoided. Even if I choose to terminate the attempted relay and disconnect immediately after receiving the refusal to QSY to a slot, it's still a waste of time and bandwidth!
I'm a VarAC newbie but it seems to me that, if a station is configured to not automatically accept QSY requests, it should also blocked from responding to Path Finder requests. Also, too few stations are attended (regardless of the state of their "I'm Away" check box) and thus unable to manually accept QSY requests.
Thoughts here? Am I missing something?
