Looking for a QSO partner in Italy (Southern EU)

I have noticed that the 17m band has nice openings here in VK3 to Italy around 08:00 UTC via the long path. For some propagation studies I am looking for a QSO partner. The VarAC "Verbose SNR" feature (see graph below) enables to maintain a VarAC link for many hours without the need to attend. At the same time I do like to chat of course :)

I am using a 3-element Ultrabem mounted on the roof of my house. Italian SSB signals came in with S9 yesterday and the day before.

Hello Meir Nice to hear from you. Sure, we can try. I see on QRZ that you are using an end-fed wire antenna. In my experience, this is a problem but we can try. 17m should work from about 0400 - 0600 UTC, according to VOACAP. 73

Hi, sure I agree with you, highest open band should be used ever, depending on propagation conditions. I never understood why new modes are confinated to 20 and 40 meters. I usually take a look to psk reporter to see any station is available on upper bands using Varac

Nice to hear from you, Phil. I found that for example 12m is now the best band for me to link with a friend in Missouri US. We had a 3h link recently. Well, I am on 17m daily from 08:00 UTC.
