It would be helpful to be able to select the sound output for Sounds and Narrator in the menu Appearance and Sounds. I have the problem, when running the program under Wine, by default the sound is directed to the modem sound card instead of being output to the speaker.

With the now implemented timeout of 60 sec, I am no longer able to ping any stn on the calling frequency. Most pings take a little more than 90 sec in average, if the SNR is somewhat below -10 dB. If the signal is strong, I don't need a ping, as I know that the other stn can probably receive me anyhow.

I have installed VarAC and VARA HF modem on my MAC. It looked like it was running fine; I can send beacons and broadcast and see stations calling. The only problem: once I am connected, or someone connects to me, the system crashes when I try to send a message. From the log it looks like there is a problem connecting via KISS to the VARA modem. I already tried to change the KISS port, same problem. Firewall is off. I am using VarAC V 6.4.15 with VARA HF v4.7.2 on Crossover 22.0.1 on a MacBook Air M2. Any ideas?
