An idea I would love to see in Winlink: calling freqs/beacons similar to VarAC. Waste so much time and battery in the field trying to find a gateway. If there were beacon freqs one could simply hear a gateway and I suppose beacon could also contain op freqs though that could be cumbersome. In any event Winlink to me is good for stationary base stations who can build up a list of favorites they reliably contact but even then much time and power is wasted trying to make connections IMO. Thx to the developer of VarAC it is a really great program and covers a lot of bases I appreciate. Very very well done. Kudos.

I cannot attach log or screenshots. CPU and VARA meters all stable/normal throughout. Debug was on I turned it off restarted with same results. Over 5GB RAM avail. PC responding normally in all other apps etc during issue. Not sure what you mean by walk you through the items. Simple "copy all" intermittently produces the error I sent in the OP. Platform is an up to date Win10 Home x64. If there is anything else I can provide you with let me know. Does not stop the app from working. Thanks.

log, commands, beacons, I think data and other areas too. Generally happens once- hit continue and then does not happen again for that area. But I have not tested it over time extensively.

I tried setting 8400 it did not stick. I downloaded manuals and a powerpoint presentation from the manuals area here and saw 8350 shown and that worked. Will be very nice to have a monitor! Thx for the replies.

Duplicated Vara folder and mapped- but there was no instruction on port settings. restarted VarAC and 2 Vara modems opened but was unsure which was which. Upon opening the settings on one of them it would not allow me to close it without configuring a port. Impossible to close- not an ideal cfg. In any event does the monitoring modem need a port configured? Thx.

I was not suggesting a waterfall- that is avail in limited way in the VARA modem. I am suggesting the actual text or commands etc being transmitted. Sending chat text is obvious but there are other things happening that would be helpful to see, Thanks.
