I'm Away and Unattended links behavior - 8.4.4

Good morning - question for anyone else running 8.4.4 - the away behavior seems to have changed. If I have 'I'm Away' and 'Unattended links' selected - when I receive an incoming connection - it is not sending my away message - it is connecting like a normal QSO - is this intended behavior or a regression?

It sounds like with this deselected all connections are rejected - with selected should connect and then send the away message?

Mark. This is KB0FX. I did get your away message. Since you had just pinged me I wrongfully assumed you were at the keyboard and had forgotten to turn off I'm away. The feature is working as it should.

Custom Away message was deprecated long time ago. You can't set it anymore under the settings. It's not there.

Thank you for the response. For clarification, what is the intended behaviour if IA an UL is set to ON? I had them set to ON and another station connected to me and then began chatting as though I was there.

I assumed they could PING and query for INFO but would have received some sort of notification that I was AWAY and therefore would not be responding.

On Version 8.2.x I recall watching a message go out that I was away and then offer to leave a VMAIL. Has that changed?

If both are set to On then VarAC will act as previous versions. If you have UL unchecked AND IA is checked (either manually or via Auto) your VarAC will not respond to incoming requests, it will just be a passive listener, however if Beacon is turned on it will Beacon for others who like to use this feature for propagation analysis. If you "Mouse Over" the UL box you will get conetxtual help as on any other setting. This is a tool to help comply with local radio regulations.
