QSY for delivering VMails

the VMail functionality is great. But VMail could be too long to be transmittedon the calling frequency. So, when the receiving station is not occupied ("I am away" switched on ), the sender should be able to initiate a QSY after connection, and the receiving station should follow the QSY request automatically. This process would free up occupation time on the calling frequency.

Of course the receiving station should then go back to the calling frequency automatically, just after the delivery of the VMail.

Forcing a QSY would seem to be the remote operation of another's (unattended?) station. I'm not sure the legality of such and probably varies by country. Would that make you a remote operator, possibly of a station in another country?

All the hand wringing about the QRG seems a bit much at times.

Yes! I hope soon in this feature, the community is growing and sometimes it starts to get congested making it impossible to exchange Vmail to "away" stations. Regarding the legal aspect, I don't think it's a problem if QSY takes place in a slot of the same band.

With a little bit of good will, that would have been implemented a long time ago.

There are 10 slots that are virtually unused, everyone knows that CQ´s remain mostly unanswered, so the available slots are mostly unused.

Use the two outer slots for vmail exchange, then there are still 8 others available.

If a station responds to a broadcast and wants to retrieve its vmail then the station in away mode it will send the QSY-tag to

initiate the QSY to one of these outer slots. If the calling station does not respond to the QSY-tag, the disconnect follows. The same if you write an vmail offline and want to deliver it by calling this station. The called station remains the master.

As the owner of the CALLED station, you determine which outer slot you use and thereby also give the permission to initiate the QSY by sending the QSY-Tag

If you do not choose a slot, you will have to manually initiate the QSY forcing them to use one of the outer slots.

After the vmail exchange, both stations go back to the CF. There is no remote operation, because the calling station has no influence on the slot used,

that freedom remains with the station that is called.

Otherwise you can also claim that by calling a station you have the remotecontrol to force the other station that you call to transmit answering your call.
