The software for serial port comes here together with my USB Interface III micoham USB device router 9.3.5. and does also a good job. Hello, I think beacons in VarAC are like calling CQ in other modes. VARA modem sends "CQ DL4DTL-9 500". If HAMs don't want any connection or QSO, they shouldn't turn ON the beacons If they only want to check where they are being received, they can use other systems such as RBN or WSPR. Each OM should also check whether he activates the beacon function. For the continued success of VarAC we should keep the CF free for CQ calls and broadcasts. 73 de Maik, DL4DTL

Hello Irad, I checked the behavior of TUNE again: It depends on the transmission power whether it works. As soon as the power is above approx. 30W, PTT switches, but not ANT1/ANT2. Sometimes ANT1/ANT2 switches correctly again after approx. half a minute. I had observed this before, that the CAT control is influenced by RFI(?). That's why I usually set the PTT via DTR/RTS.CAT and PTT then share the same COM port. I have another CAT interface, which is possibly better shielded and provides separate virtual COM ports for CAT and PTT. I will get the cables to the TRCV for it. Hi Irad, many thanks this works well with some conditions: For TX/RX during a QSO or when transmitting beacon it works 100%. Only when I type the button "Tune", it fails. It changes to ANT1 and not back to ANT2. Can be, that this use the VARA-Tune function and is implemented differently. But knowing this, it works fine.
