Greetings! I just posted this to the FB page but also thought I'd post it here. Just a quick question regarding setting ALC. The recommendation in the software is to set the ALC at 1/3 of the bar. It was my understanding that ANY ALC was bad - since that triggered the transmitter to begin throttling back power to prevent overdriving and distortion of signal? I believe no ALC (or just a hint of it kicking in) is what is recommended for FT8. What am I missing here? I'm sure someone in the group can enlighten me. Thanks in advance. jack N3DNA
