I have made exactly 4 qso's. I will get some experience under my belt before I go off half-cocked bitching about something I really have no experience with. I need some 'stick-time' to better evaluate all the ramifications. Thanks for your input Gary.

Thanks for the information. I use LOTW for every contact and of course VARA as you say, is not an accepted mode. I just started using the mode yesterday and am learning as I go. I will select a mode to upload the QSO's. At some later point, I will be able to filter for the mode I select and do a mass change if necessary. I plan on using some obscure LOTW acceptable mode that I am totally sure I will never really use. Thanks again for the response.
