Hello, today i updated to Varac 3.3.1.
Frequency setting is working - as it did before. No Problem. But whenever I start Varac, or whenever I switch frequencies, the transceiver goes to FSR (FSK reversed) I'm using Vara for Winlink as well, and there is no problem with that. So I guess it's something in Omnirig. I saw others also had that problem before with other Kennwood rigs, but don't realy understand how it was solved. In omnirig I selected TS480.
Before I tried Varac 3.3.1 I used version 2.7.2.
In 2.7.2 everything was working. No problem here.
Any Ideas ?
Thank's
Frank
Hi @seatalknmeabridge
First - did you check that if you set under VarAC the OmniRig call to USB and not USB-D ?
TS-480 provides an FSK as the only "digital mode" available.
What you want is to use USB.
If you still encounter the problem - then as Gary suggested - you will need to change your TS-480.ini Omnirig file (found under the omnirig directory) file to accomplish this.
This is a small change though.
Take a look at this section on that file:
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
; set mode
;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Basically, if you set under VarAC settings that you want to do USB, then VarAC calls the SSB_U command.
If you set in VarAC to USB-D, it calls to DIG_U.
You can play with those commands to get to the desired state.
I hope it helps

Unfortunately you need to modify the rig .ini file for OmniRig. You will need to change the CAT command from RTTY/FSK to USB (or preferably USB Digital if your rig supports it). I had to do this for my TS-890.
