VARAC using and Icom7100 and Omnirig. when opening VARAC program sets my radio to RTTY instead of USB-D
open up the XML file for the IC 7300 DATA you will see that the DATA version uses data mode (like it should) instead of RTTY. I changed all my addresses from 94 to 88 also.
@oe3fqu Were you able to use the IC-7200 for FT8 with OmniRig?
I also noticed that I had to select the "Accept 500 Hz connections" in VARA HF -> Settings -> Vara Setup...
Thank you for your effort.
No, the profile "IC-7300-FT8.ini" unfortunately does not work!
I think it can't work because it uses the device address Hex94 from the IC-7300 and not Hex76 which is assigned to the IC-7200. I edited the profile and replaced all the "Hex94" with "Hex76" and saved it as a new profile.
Unfortunately, this does not work either; the CIV commands for the two devices are different.
The IC-7300-DATA profile should have been named IC-7300-RTTY 😉 I created an IC-7300-FT8 profile that also works with VarAC. To use this profile
Right-click and Save as "C:\Program Files (84)\Afreet\OmniRig\Rigs\IC-7300-FT8.ini"
Select IC-7300-FT8 from the "Rig type" drop-down list.
@irad d Hello to you; OmniRig initialization tested with 7100-Data and 7300-Data,
Cat control does not work! (IC-7100 uses Hex 88, IC-7300 uses Hex 94)
Changing USB-D to USB in VarAC setup does not bring success.
OmniRig initialization with "Rig type IC-7200 (Hex Adr 76)"
the CAT control works when starting VarAC, the QRG set on the TRX is displayed;
USB DataMode is not set and the radio switches to Mode RTTY.
Also with the Icom IC-7200, (IC-7200v2, IC-7200v2_2) and Cat via OmniRig V 1.20 it is the same problem:
When opening the VARAC program or changing frequency, my radio sets to RTTY instead of USB-D
OmniRig, 7610-Data, the IC-7610 is forced to use USB-D1
I just called you with no joy. 09-12-2021 04:10z and then the TRX is hanging - transmitting without modulation.
Did you set in VarAC settings to USB-D and in omniriflg to 7100-data ?
