How to switch to 2300hz bandwidth without CAT

    in VarAC discussion forum

How to change from 500hz to 2300hz bandwidth if i use CAT only for PTT.

Program locks on 500hz because there is no confirmation i am not on calling (CQ) QRG.

Maybe useful if you use ALE for QRG selecting.

    Thank you,

    73 Matjaz S57MK

No need for CAT. 2300/500 is a VARA modem definition. not RIG.

you simply click the 2300 button.

Only thing is please avoid using 2300 on calling QRGs as we all use 500hz which allows more QSO to happen side by side.

No 2300HZ is allowed on our calling QRG as you will QRM on the QSYU/QSYD frequencies (14.105.750 & 14.104.250)

if you want to test it out Tune to another freq. like 14.100.000 for example

How to tell the program that i am on 14.100.000 if i not use CAT control? Program uses QRG that is preprogramed in frequency window, so 14.105.000 even if i manually change to 14.100.000 on rig. You get a point? How to tell the program that i am tuned on another QRG without CAT? If i manually write 14.100.000 in freq window, program still acts like it is 14.105.000. Thank you

Your answers are in the manual. But ill give you a hint :) Look in the directory of varac for a file with the name "frequencies" :) 73s

That works, thank you Irad! It is not elegant solution for Emcomm, but now i can use VarAC with ALE support. Thank you for your time, all the best! 73, Matjaz S57MK
