Hello KENWOOD TS-870 users.
I want to use my old KENWOOD TS-870 for VARAC.
Using a MICROHAM USBIII as an interface.
I want to do "CAT Control", the latest "VarAC_cat_commands.ini" is installed.
In VARAC RIG Control, the PTT and CAT works without any problems!
Unfortunately, the transmitter is NOT modulated in practical operation and therefore no HF power is emitted.
With Winlink there is no problem.
Does anyone have experience with TS-870 and VARAC setup?

Hello everyone; my PTT problem with the TS-870 and the MicroHAM USB Interface III is solved. I described the problem to microHam Support and got help immediately. Jozef OM7ZZ wrote me: " You cannot use CAT PTT, modulation from ACC is than disabled. Use RTS over COM 11 same as you do with Winlink." Das Setup schaut nun also so aus:

Obviously you are getting audio from the rig to VarAC as it is decoding Beacons. And since you said the VARA HF is the identical one as used before VarAC and Winlink this gets stranger.
So CAT Freq control and CAT PTT work?? If so then the issue is with getting the audio from the PC into the radio, it is not VarAC. The critical screen setting you have not provided is the VARA Soundcard settings.
