This is a partial repost from the FB group, but last night I couldn't use VarAC on 14.105 due to digital QRM. The bursts were somewhat long, and on FB it was suggested that was HF packet. Moreover, the reply indicated a long standing HF packet net/group on 14.105 LSB: https://www.qsl.net/kb9pvh/105.html
My questions are 1) if the packet net is on frequency and LSB, will VarAC work on USB on the calling frequency (suspect yes)? 2) but a QSY to a lower frequency/channel will potentially collided with the packet net?
TIA! 73 de ke5c op john
Remember the old 14105Net was hf Packet on 14-103.5 LSB so there will be some interaction .There are still HF packet stations out there as well as many other modes using this portion of the frequency( straight off the bat I can think of at least 6 other modes been using this portion for a long time ) , before VaraC came along . It happened to most of the modes in the past 10 years where a mode selects frequencies deemed as fixed but this is not possible due to so many modes and common aspects to using that particular frequency . If you want to listen to packet ( those long bursts ) one can try soundmodem114 and Easyterm49 on windows - works great and easy to install .

There has been discussions here on the Forum on what slots could cause potential QRM to other users such as the 14.105 packet users. Here is one such example of a post here. https://www.varac-hamradio.com/forum/varac-hf-discussion-forum/slot-occupied-frequencies
