Hello Irad,
The problem to change frequencies using IC-728 is solved. My colleague SA6HBK, Henrik, in our EmComm group, realized that at least for our old Icom station IC-728 changing frequency on the radio involves the two steps: 1) Define mode (e.g. USB) 2) Define frequency. The problem was defining the mode. In ”Your” last cat-files the HEX-command 06 (write) was used, when we changed this to the command 01 (transfer) changing frequency from VarAC main window worked as expected. If the mode command was not correct then the frequency command was ignored. Without changing from 06 to 01 it was only possible to change frequency from the setting window, not from the main window. Therefore we conclude that there is some difference between using the Settings TEST and the main window dropdownlist.
Example för mode change to USB on IC-728 (38):
Last cat-file: FEFE38E00601FD (we used IC-707 (3E) as base)
Our change: FEFE38E00101FD
There is no setting for mode on the main page, I assume this is expected to be read from the radio. There is setting for mode on the Settings page. This is one difference.
I enclose CAT-files for IC-728, IC-725 and IC-735. So far only IC-728 is verified, IC-725 and IC-735 might be verified soon.
However I enclose the requested log files, the test was performed as follows:
* VarAC set with Debug mode, was closed
* Log file was erased
* Var AC was started
* In Settings USB 14105000 TEST was set (functional)
* In Settings USB 7105000 TEST was set (functional)
* On main page 14105000 was chosen (no function)
* On main page 3595000 was chosen (no function)
* VarAC was closed
* Log file was copied and saved
