Just loaded 8.4.4 and have a couple of issues that I am sure are my fault. The first problem I have had before in earlier versions. When booting up the program I does not select the proper filter in the IC 7100. Last time I just had to go into the INI file and you could select which filter. When I look in the INI file there is no were to select the filter. Probably something I am missing. The second thing is the "abort" button in gone from the gui. Any help is appreciated. I have noticed that the time stamps in the main windows are all in Zulu time. But in Vmail messages the time stamp is in local time. In my case eastern time. Do I have a setting wrong or what? Best Kim W4OSS

I have a couple of questions about QSY proceedure. I am on the CF and connect to another station and the operator is there and we are having a keyboard to keyboard chat. I want to clear the CF so him or I clicks on the qsy D/U button. This then sends a pop up to the other stations and he can either accept the qsy or not? Do I have that correct. I am on the CF and connect to another station and they are away but requests you leave a Vmail. You start the Vmail but conditions are poor so it is taking awhile. I get a pop up saying I am on the CF and it is going to automatically disconnect me. How do I qsy with out dropping the connection to finish sending my Vmail? Same as #2 except I am sending a file.

When I change freqs. the bandwidth automatically changes to a very narrow width which will not work good for VarAc. I have to manually change the filter back to a wider width. I am using an Icom IC 7100. This is in the USB-D mode. Anyone know how to prevent it from automatically change bandwidth? I sure it is something simple but I am kind of new to this. Best Kim W4OSS

I have been trying to get VarAC to work on my windows 7 machine without success. I went back and read the prerequisites and it stated windows 8.1 or higher. Is there any work around? My windows 7 machine is what I us for digital modes. I thing I know the answer but thought I would ask. I don't really want to buy another machine for just VarAc.

Do I really need OmniRig. I am currently using WinLink, JS8 Call, FLDIGI. They all control the IC 7100 fine. This includes VARA in WinLink. I am reluctant to download OmniRig because it might screw up what is all ready working. I would think VarAC should work properly without having to use OmniRig. Sorry for my ignorance. W4OSS

I use VARA that comes bundled with the WinLink program and works very well. I have not upgraded to the paid version. I am thinking about trying VarAC it looks like fun. My question is do I only need to download the VarAc software or do I need to buy a license and download VARA separate from what is bundled with WinLink? I am barely computer literate. 73 W4OSS
