I cannot get my IC-7100 to work with VarAC HF. It works fine with VarAC FM. When I use the HF profile the radio produces a strange sound and the "BUSY" indicator will not go off. I have tried with the internal sound card, a DRA-36 and a SignalLink all with the same results. VarAC works fine with both my IC-7300 and IC-9700. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am new to VarAC-FM. I have no trouble connecting and controlling my IC-7300 with VarAC. However, when I try to use VarAC-FM with either my IC-7100 or IC-9700 I am having a problem. When I open the program it says "can't connect to comm portXX, may be in use by another program". Once in a while it will connect without that error message, but I still can't control the radio and sometimes it locks up the program or my computer. I have tried on both my desktop and laptop, both running Windows 10. I did see a post by Edfel from Pueto Rico (can't remeber his callsign) that shows his settings and says that it works but it looks like he is running an older version of VarAC-FM. Is there a bug in the new version or am I doing something wrong? Please help....thanks. Doug, N0DAJ
