Thanks, I'll check it out. I'm puzzled why Omni-Rig CAT works just fine, but VARAC CAT doesn't. It's gotta be a software problem.

CAT not working for either PTT or freq control on the FT-847. Works fine with ONMI-RIG, but the not the VARAC CAT. This has to be a software problem if OMNI-RIG works OK. Does anyone else have VARAC CAT working on the FT-847? -- Bob, N0AOT

Hi Michael. re: FT-847 CAT not working. No CAT PTT or freq control here either with VARAC rig control. VARAC with Onmi-rig CAT works perfectly, though the serial port doesn't get released on exit from VARAC, which causes an error going back to Winlink. Must reboot each time. I tried setting RTS and DTS high, as you suggested, but it doesn't make any difference. No error, no response at all. Any other ideas? Thanks, Bob, N0AOT
