The reason this works, at least from my experience, was that it launched Windows Security and asked if you wanted to allow private or pubic access on the PC. This then created the requried Firewall Rules to all TCP and UDP ports for VARA HF Modem.

I would like to thank Irad & everyone else for the excellent support! I can confirm that my issue with Broadcast mode not working was infact a Windows Defender Firewall issue. See the screen shot below. That said I am wondering if it would be possible to resolve the misleading error message that VARA HF posts? That would be KISS Interface Disabled (Winlink Priority). According to the VARA HF KISS documentation KISS is automatically disabled when using a Winlink App. That is exactly what I see happening on my installation. I do have Winlink installed on my Windows 10 computer but of course I am not trying to run Winlink. That said I am running the new version of VARA HF.

Irad - If I just start VARA I can Telnet to Port 8100 and watch it decode text. When I start VarAc and try and do a Broadcast the VARA screen gets an error message as follows: KISS Interface Disabled (Winlink Priority). I do have HF Winlink Express installed on this same computer. I am not trying to run it at the same time. I am trying to understand how the KISS interface is getting disabled.

I have a FT-847 and have the same issue. I need the option to have Omni-Rig control the frequency via one comm port and VarAc to control the PTT via DTR/RTS on a different comm port. I would be happy to be a beta tester!
