i use 144.925 for varac.

I use 144.925 in South Wales. I am only QRV by request at present.

Probably out of my range Martin. I use Vara-FM on request for skeds.

No idea what happened to my last it got cut up. I am using CAT Commands in VarAC and same for Frequency Control. I am not using Omnirig .but VARA Modem has the COM port unless I select ra-board, then it will work.

I am avoiding Omnirig just using VarAC but VarAC CAT gives me the message that the com port is unavailable as VARA has it. I have had to select ra-board for me to get the Com port released.

How do you disable VARA Modem CAT / COM etc to use VARAC Settings?

Thanks to Rick Hanzlik JR for this solution to my problem, you would need to open the VarAC Cat Command. INI file and change the USB-D line below to fix the change from the RTTY option to USB-D ModeUSB_D=FEFE88E00608FD -- this line should be ModeUSB_D=FEFE88E02600010103FD-- This will set the IC-7100 to the USB-D mode and will set the filter to fil3. If you want fil1, change the 03 FD to 01 FD. If you want fil2, change the 03 FD to 02 FD

Would it not be beneficial then to send an automatic "Connected to " and then a signal report, this would allow time to cancel default away message and also help with pinging stations to get confirmation of "Connected to" instead of an away message. Only a thought Irad, you are the master at this, I wish I could code then I would understand more.

Here's a further thought on this, immediately after sending the I'm away message the S/N is sent, could these not be reversed, as it may give enough time to cancel the I'm away as a queued message and begin a QSO.

Ok, Something may have gone wrong. got a ping after a request tonight from a Dutch station, though my connection this time was disconnected, my station tried to connect back to him afterwards until I aborted.

Ok i'll double check these later this evening, but i believe they are the same on both sets, as I used the same program file from my radio when I programmed his.

Also My callsign is difficult to see.

on 80 metres we use 3590.000 USB

I have installed a second copy of VarAC to my PC into a directory named VarAC-FM. I have copied the application shortcut to my desktop also named VarAC-FM and pointed the main config of that instance of VarAC to Vara-FM when it's all configured I can click VarAC-FM on my desktop and open VarAC configured for FM and Vara-FM opens with it. Clicking the desktop icon for VarAC-HF the shortcut open VarAC configured for HF and VARA-HF. I also changed the port for FM to 8400.
