Charles - I am also running an IC-7300, VarAC v9.23, and VaraHF v4.8.7. I have tried several times, and cannot re-create your problem. It works fine for me. Perhaps a rig setting or connection? Are you getting stray RFI into the computer? Try reducing power on the 7300 to bare minimum.

I believe these questions have been answered, but if not - the main thing to remember in setting up VarAC with the IC-7300 is that you MUST use CAT control if you want VarAC to control the rig properly.

OK, so it reads the PC clock and adds to it depending on the Grid location? Or do you mean something else when you say "operating system clock" ? Foe example, I am in the US Central Time Zone, and normally 6 hours "behind" UTC. But in the Summer, with Daylight Savings Time, I am only 5 hours behind UTC. Since it displays the correct UTC, it must be adding 5 hours to my system clock. How does it know how much to add? 73 Lyn, W0LEN

Irad - first of all, glad to see you are safe! As to the time issue, that's what I thought, and that's what my system displays. But my contact, in Phoenix, AZ is showing +1 hour even though his PC clock IS apparently set correctly. Comparing his log to mine, he shows our contact exactly 1 hour later (UTC) than I do. It's as if VarAC is "assuming" AZ is on Daylight Savings Time when in actuality it never goes on Daylight Time. I've asked him to re-verify what VarAC is displaying as the current UTC time. Thanks! I'm not seeing that, Dirk - but what I am seeing is that Malwarebytes doesn't want to allow me to even go to their download site because it says the site contains malicious material. My apologies to all (esp. Irad ...). Yes, my QSOs are being logged correctly. The problem was misstated. I was advised that v8.0.6 no longer logs Beacons as it once did. They disappear after a time, and cannot be retrieved. I have no way to verify. 73 Lyn, WØLEN

Nope. Not on my Wiin 10 Pro 64 system with VarAC.exe v8.0.6 There is no \VarAC folder at all in that location.

The last prior version (July) apparently did not log either. 3. All versions up through June created an ADIF-compatible .adi file that could be imported directly into other logging apps (I use QRZ and yes - QRZ does indeed recognize VARA HF mode format. 4. QRZ also DOES recognize VarAC and distinguishes between QSO and Ping I am attaching a screen grab of my QRZ log covering 19-09-2022 through 12-06-2023. You will see 94 VarAC entries in that time period, And yes, I am running VarAC as Administrator in the C:\VarAC folder. I don't believe anything here has changed except the VarAC version. This is critical for several reasons, not the least of which is disruption of the VarAC training we are doing for hundreds of Emcomm personnel throughout North America. See my answer above. I found the 2 instances shown on attached JPG image. Both are indeed in the C:\VarAC folder.

Additionally, here are VarAC entries in QRZ resulting from importing the subject .ADI file. Note that nothing newer than June 12 has appeared.

I created the other file when I first noticed the problem, and nothing has been written to it.
